As an Artist

It’s my responsibility to keep making art that is meaningful satisfying to me. I guess I don’t feel bad about doing it for money sometimes, but I have a job, and never have to worry about what’s going to sell. The work I make in my personal time is different. Although some can, lots of the things I make couldn’t really be sold. The work I make defines me as a person. If I stop making art I have failed. Art has given me everything I’ve ever had- from my hobbies, to my career and my wife. It’s not something that you can just walk away from.

Skills

I’m an artist. I paint and draw. I make sculptures, costumes, masks, paint sets once in a while for theatre, music videos, and a few performances and I do music and live performance art pieces. I’ve worked on a television show and traveled the country with a show. I make ceramics and am good at working with plaster. I’m also pretty good at designing t-shirts, screen-printing and sticker making. No. I'm not picking one.

Making Work

If there is one thing that I know it’s how to make work…how to do it for the long term. I’m not saying I’m going to finish this painting. I’m not saying I’m going to finish any of them. I am going to continue to produce, create, and build.
