As an Artist
Itís my responsibility to keep making art that is meaningful satisfying to me. I guess I donít feel bad about doing it for money sometimes, but I have a job, and never have to worry about whatís going to sell. The work I make in my personal time is different. Although some can, lots of the things I make couldnít really be sold. The work I make defines me as a person. If I stop making art I have failed. Art has given me everything Iíve ever had- from my hobbies, to my career and my wife. Itís not something that you can just walk away from.
Iím an artist. I paint and draw. I make sculptures, costumes, masks, paint sets once in a while for theatre, music videos, and a few performances and I do music and live performance art pieces. Iíve worked on a television show and traveled the country with a show. I make ceramics and am good at working with plaster. Iím also pretty good at designing t-shirts, screen-printing and sticker making. No. I'm not picking one.
If there is one thing that I know itís how to make workÖhow to do it for the long term. Iím not saying Iím going to finish this painting. Iím not saying Iím going to finish any of them. I am going to continue to produce, create, and build.
